Shop-fabricated tanks are storage tanks constructed entirely at a manufacturing facility before being transported to their final location for installation.

Built in a Controlled Environment: These tanks are manufactured in a workshop setting, allowing for better quality control and adherence to specific design requirements.
Transportation Limits: Shop-fabricated tanks have a size limit due to transportation constraints. They typically range from a few thousand gallons up to 30,000-50,000 gallons.
Assembly Process: The tank floor is built first, followed by steel sheets that are welded together to form the cylindrical shell. Openings for manways, nozzles, glass windows and other features are incorporated during this stage.

Benefits:

Quality Assurance: The controlled environment of a shop allows for stricter quality checks and inspections throughout the fabrication process.
Efficiency: Shop fabrication offers a faster and more predictable timeline compared to field- erected tanks (built on-site)
Cost-Effectiveness: Manufacturing in a workshop can sometimes be more cost-efficient due to economies of scale and optimized processes
